Snapchat is rolling out new features today including a new tool to create custom face lenses and new text caption styles for your snaps. Lenses are AR masks that overlay your face with details like puppy ears, flower crowns, and the all important vomiting rainbow. The lenses start from $9.99 and go up depending on the size of the location you’ve chosen (covering anywhere from 20,000 to 5 million square feet), duration of the lens, and other factors.

The lens tool is available from desktop browsers or through the Snapchat app on iOS. Users can choose from 150 different lens templates at launch, which can also be personalized with text. The offering is similar to Snapchat’s custom geofilters , which are one-off decorative borders that users can select for their snaps when situated at a pre-defined location.

To create a custom face lens in the iOS app, tap on Settings, then select Filters and Lenses. Then, choose from one of the pre-made face lens templates. You can also add text if you wish.

Snap notes that users should complete their custom lens purchase at least 3 hours before the event for it to run on time. The tool is only intended for consumers and Snap says any brands using it to advertise for their company won’t be approved in the submission process.

Snap’s stock has soared thanks to its better-than-expected fourth quarter sales of $285.7 million with over 3.5 billion snaps created everyday. Today’s new features are part of Snap’s push to get more users onto the app (which has struggled with user growth ) and to diversify revenue sources. In November, Snapchatrevealed a redesign meant to make the app more accessible and easier to use, and last week, Snapintroduced new customization options to its Bitmoji app. With today’s updates, Snap is further differentiating itself from Facebook properties like Instagram Stories — the Snapchat clone that now outperforms the original .

Also launching today are new font styles for captions on both your photo and video snaps. The new fonts include: brush, italic, glow, gradient, rainbow, fancy, and old English. You can choose one or two different fonts on each snap.

The Create Your Own Lens feature is available today in the US on both web and in the Snapchat app on iOS. Snap says global and Android availability is “coming soon.” The new caption options are rolling out now to both iOS and Android users.
